Welcome to Sunflower Montessori in beautiful Missoula, Montana!
We are a small, community-oriented school committed to offering children the highest quality care and education. At Sunflower, we offer a clean, peaceful, home-like environment with a low student-to-teacher ratio. The culture and climate have been thoughtfully prepared to honor children’s natural abilities to absorb knowledge and develop self-discipline. Our specialty is nurturing a child's natural desire to learn.

Within our Sunflower classrooms, we follow a structured Montessori curriculum each morning that encompasses mathematics, language, science, geography and practical life. In the afternoon, the emphasis shifts to fine arts, with hands-on art instruction in a variety of media, musical discovery, creative movement, dramatic play and theater. We offer a selection of real-life activities to encourage individuality and free choice for each child.
To better facilitate our children’s development, we offer whole and organic breakfasts, snacks, and hot lunches.
We educate children aged between 24 months and 6 years old. Both toddler and preschool class lead teachers are Montessori-certified.

WHERE WE LEARN AND GROW
​
Our building features two levels -- a light-filled upper floor and a cosy downstairs, as well a vestible where students hang their coats and store their shoes, two bathrooms, and a small kitchen. Classroom space upstairs and down features plenty of books, learning toys, and instruction materials. Outside, our newly-landscaped play area has tables for picnic-style eating, a plenty of toys, playground equipment, and lush green grass.
